My Love Affair With The Beautiful Game

In 2010 I ended my love affair with the beautiful game and hung up my Adidas World Cups after what I thought was going to be my last game of football ever (how very dramatic of me). My 20 year relationship with football has seen me play for 16 different clubs, play over 700 games, rack up about 200 yellow cards (no reds, yet) and make more friends than a man could ever want, but without doubt, a lot more enemies. Football isn’t just a sport, it unites people, it forms unbreakable bonds and creates memories that we will reminisce about long after our legs have given up on us.

About Walk To The World Cup

The three lads will be walking 1966km across South America in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record and raise $20,000 for the J de V Arts Care Trust. The money will enable the charity to build a water well in Bahia, North East Brazil, a place which is suffering the worst drought in over 50 years.
Adam (26), David (31) and Pete (29) will set off from Mendoza in Argentina on the 1st of March 2014 and walk for approximately 80 days through Argentina, Uruguay and finally in to Brazil for the start of the World Cup on the 12th of June.
